Poetry Tuesday: The Original Love Poem

He shaped my loins with his fair hands,
The shepherd Dumuzi filled my lap with cream and milk,
He stroked my pubic hair, He watered my womb.
He laid his hands on my holy vulva,
He smoothed my black boat with cream,
He quickened my narrow boat with milk,
He caressed me on the bed.

No, itโ€™s not Pablo Neruda, itโ€™s from โ€œThe marriage of INANNA & DUMUZI,โ€ written around 2000 B.C., generally considered the first love story. I find it extremely satisfying to know this kind of โ€œsmutโ€ has lasted for over 4000 years. . .
