LA County Fair: Flowers

And we end it with flowers; not much else to say.

Yes, these are made of flowers. . .

C'mon, paintings of flowers count too!

Sometimes the paintings look more real

Yep, that's a painting too.

Yay, an actual flower!

LA County Fair: Other Animals

I had no idea I’d come across so many animals without going into the farm section. . . and yes, camels smell even when freshly groomed.

And we end this with proof of how specialized each animal’s diet is. . .

LA County Fair: Avians

The most interesting lady I saw at the fair–not counting mermaids of posters of Star Trek babes–was a Hispanic female teen wearing a Wesley Crusher shirt. . .
Okay, time to get your feathers together. . .

Emus always look so disapproving. . .

A really cute bubbly blonde–named Brittany, of course–told me a lot more about macaw mating habits than I ever wanted to know; all I asked was if they could tell each other apart by their colors. Okay, I think she was the most interesting. . .

I’m not much for genetics, but I’d like to thank the person who bred this orange guy, my favorite color. . .

Los Angeles County Fair: Trains

After a relatively disappointing Star Trek Experience–no photos allowed, except for the guy who wanted to charge me to sit in the Captain’s Chair, got out of it by saying “I’m not worthy”–I exchanged the future for the past and did like a kid, climbing on old trains.

Los Angeles County Fair: Aquatic

Despite attending plenty of fairs around the country–you might remember redheaded corn girl in Wisconsin–this was my first time at my hometown’s version, mostly because it’s usually over 100 degrees in Pomona at this time of year. Cloudy today, but Wednesday was still cool enough for fun, though Star Trek Experience did not allow photos; “All I got was this 7 of 9 poster. . .”

So, the first installment will be waterworks, featuring the sea lion girls and Mermaid Melissa.
